We hate to play favorites at Bloom, but weddings are our absolute favorite events. We love everything that goes into them and it's so fulfilling to see everything come together on your big day! As a florist we love helping you choose the best flowers for your day and bringing your vision to life.
Once you submit your inquiry form, we send you our questionnaire. This helps us to give you an initial quote. Once we have this, we get to work on writing your proposal and creating your mood board. We send this to you and give you a link to our calendar to schedule a quick chat to go over things. You can also just go ahead and book without scheduling that chat, it's all up to you. Once you're booked, we go into the behind the scenes planning mode. We plan out mechanics, sourcing flowers, sourcing vases, etc. We follow up with you on various things and change the contract as needed such as adding or removing bridal party members. We adapt to your changing needs. About 2 months out we like to do a walkthrough and really start to finalize your vision. This walkthrough is free of charge if you are in Stuart, Jupiter or West Palm Beach areas.
There's a lot that goes into this, but the main answer is good quality flowers just cost a lot in general. A common misconception is that florists get wholesale flowers for cheap, we don't, they cost us a lot. Most flowers are imported and so with that comes shipping costs. A lot of premium flowers come from Italy and South America.
You're also paying for experience and knowledge. I look back on some of the arches and bouquets I made when I was learning and they make me laugh, they just look awkward. Certain flowers like to be stored in specific temperatures. Some flowers open up fast, some slow. We take all this into account when we order them so that they are at their prettiest the day of your wedding.
You're also paying for our time. There is so much that goes into planning wedding flowers. You have the whole planning of the design and what goes into that aspect such as stem count and mechanics. Then you have the actual design process. We have to process the flowers, let them hydrate, and put them together. We work 12+ hour days in the days leading up to your wedding. Lastly we have the actual set up which takes hours of loading, unloading, setting up, attaching flowers to structures. There is so much that goes into it.
When you pay a professional florist, you're paying us to worry about all these things so you don't have to. We want you to be able to enjoy your wedding day!
